For the past 45 years, Mr. Goldberg has represented New York City Civil Service clients with pride. After receiving his JD from Brooklyn Law School in 1974, Mr. Goldberg was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1975. Mr. Goldberg worked for the New York State Assembly Codes Committee and a major insurance company before joining a premiere Civil Service Law firm which represented the Uniform Fire Officers Association (UFOA). It was early in his tenure at this firm that Mr. Goldberg discovered the particular niche in which he developed a level of expertise unparalleled in New York City legal circles.
During his years of practice, Mr. Goldberg has honed his expertise in a wide variety of civil service disability claims and litigation in which he was able to obtain justice for hundreds of beleaguered New York City workers, primarily members of the New York City Police Department (NYPD), New York City Fire Department (FDNY), New York City Department of Corrections (DOC/NYCD), New York City Emergency Medical Services (EMS), New York City Department of Sanitation (DSNY) and other City and State agencies. Mr. Goldberg has represented clients in thousands of disability pension cases in both the initial disability pension application stage and in disability pension litigation, including both Article 78 Proceedings and appeals. In the wake of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, Mr. Goldberg assisted a large number of disabled first responders in obtaining the compensation they were entitled to and continues to aid those injured on 9/11 through WTC Pension Reclassification applications and litigation today.
